Knights of Columbus Memorial Mass
On October 20th, the Brothers of Council 9499 held their annual Memorial Mass to recognize and pray for Brothers that have passed away in our Council. The Council maintains a Necrology Board, containing a Brass Name Plate for each of the more than sixty Brother Knight that have passed away since the founding of our Council in the late 1980’s.
During the Mass, a contingent of Fourth Degree Members in Tuxedos and Social Baldricks led a procession into the Church where the Necrology Board was placed near the Altar. PGK Dale Herbstritt graciously offered his singing talents as cantor during the Mass. Following Prayers of the Faithful, we read the names of Brothers: PGK Robert J. Nowak, Robert “Bob” Triplett, Timothy Sullivan, Brian Dickman, Paul F. Ripp, and PGK Albert Bruno. All of whom have passed away in the last three years. A single bell was struck after the reading of each Brother’s name. At the presentation of the gifts, current Faithful Navigator Norm Shea and 4th Degree Honor Guard Commander Joe Michalski presented the gifts to our Celebrants. At the conclusion of Mass, the Necrology Board was displayed in the Narthex until the crowd dispersed. The Mass was well received and appreciated by members of the Parish and all in attendance.
